Rafting

Rafting day! First we got our helmets and lifejackets, then we had to walk down what felt like a million steps. We finally got to the river and went inside the raft. The guide gave us instructions, forward paddle, backward paddle, stop (hold the paddle inside the raft) and the best one: 'boomboom'. When it got very bumpy we had to sit in front of our 'bench' so we wouldn't fall out. It was so cool! We had slow parts where you could look around and see the jungle. We saw rock carvings and lizards. Also very cool rock formations, it's so hard to describe but they were square. And we had rough parts where we almost fell out. It was really fun and the guide seemed to have fun aswell (singing the banana song from minions all the time). After 2 hours we were done and I was so tired. But we still had to walk up all these steps.. Then we had lunch and we could shower. I think the showers are like the once I will have on Java. So good practice!
When we came back I tried a Durian, also known as stink fruit. To some people Durians smell.like rotten garbage, while it smells good to others. If it smells good to you, you will probably like it. And I did like it, to me it smells very sweet and the taste was good aswell. Pretty funny to see how others cover their noses and spit it out immediately. When we walked further there was a mother laying on the street with two children begging. So back home when you see a beggar you usually don't give them money because most of them will use it to get drugs and they only beg for money. So I was really surprised when the woman asked for half of my Durian and was really happy when I gave it to her. It opens your eyes to the fact that these people really are in need.
Now I'm going to bed because we have to get up at 2 am and then we will climb the mountain by night! Very excited!
